Empowering Rural Women – An initiative by Inner wheel Club of Mysore Central

Greetings!

Inner Wheel is the largest voluntary international women’s social organization which is recognized worldwide for its service to the mankind and has a representation at the United Nations as well. Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central (IWCMC) which is a part of International Inner Wheel, is celebrating its 25th year anniversary. As one of its service activities, Inner Wheel is planning to train rural women giving preference to those who are widows, underprivileged or single in tailoring in Mysore Taluk for a term of 5 years. This agenda would require enormous funds.

Women empowerment is the need of the hour. It is high time to promote rural women’s sense of self-worth and make way for their choices. It is also a great responsibility of everyone to acknowledge women’s right to influence social change. As a part of such extension of support and encouragement, we like to organize the following training program. The details of the program and the plans are given below.

Program:  Tailoring Training

Duration: 4 months (300 hours of training)

Number of trainees for a batch: 30 women

Trainers’ remuneration: 40,000 (10,000 /per month x 4)

Training Assistant: 20,000 (5000/per month x 4)

Training room rent: 40000 (10000 per month X 4)

Training Materials: 18000 (600 / per person x 30)

Study Material: 12000 (400 per person x 30)

Miscellaneous: 20000 (certificates, water, machine repair & maintenance, etc, 5000 per month x4)

Total required amount = 1,50,000

Amount required for a person: 1,50,000/30 = 5000/-

Cost of a sewing machine = 6000/-

After the training program, the trainees will be placed in any garment factory. Sewing machines will be provided for those who opt to work independently but cannot afford to buy one themselves. They will be offered all sort of support for establishing their business.

IWCMC, therefore, appeals for generous monetary help to help the needy and deprived.

Donors can donate either by one time or by regular monthly payments.
